Alabama's New COVID-19 Dashboard Will Share Data on Vaccine Distribution
January 07, 2021

The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) has responded to the public's calls for up-to-date information about the COVID-19 vaccine. An article released by the Alabama NewsCenter titled "
Alabama Department of Public Health Launches New COVID-19 Dashboard" expands on the implementation of their new dashboard containing all the relevant data on the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Now that the Pfizer, BioNTech and Moderna vaccines are in Alabama, the
COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Dashboard will display information concerning the shipment and allocation of doses within the state. People will get access to the number of vaccines per shipment and see how many doses have been administered per day.
The Alabama COVID-19 Vaccination Allocation Plan lists the four stages of the distribution process according to the population's risk of exposure, with 300,000 people falling into the Phase 1A of the plan. This group includes several members of the population, ranging from healthcare workers to laboratory personnel in charge of handling SARS-CoV-2 samples.
With the state reporting the distribution of 20,350 doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines on December 28th, the number of doses available is still limited. The ADPH confirms that safety guidelines are still in place even for those who have already been vaccinated and will inform via their website so eligible people can contact providers to request an appointment.
